Providence Certified Nursing Assistant 2 (East Side of Portland Metro Area) in Milwaukie, Oregon

Description:

Providence is calling a Certified Nursing Assistant 2 (CNA 2)- to one of our acute care hospitals in the Portland Service Area - specifically on the East side of the city. Our area hospitals include:

- Providence Milwaukie Hospital: Milwaukie, OR

- Providence Portland Medical Center: NE Portland, OR

- Providence Willamette Falls Medical Center: Oregon City, OR

This posting represents multiple openings within different units of the listed acute care hospitals. Our openings consist of positions that work 8,10 or 12 hour shifts for on-call, part-time and full-time positions.

Shifts include Day (approximately 7:00am - 7:30pm time frame), Evening (approximately 2:00pm - 10:30pm time frame) & Night (approximately 7:00pm - 7:30am time frame). Schedules are communicated several weeks in advance and most of our openings require an every other weekend rotation.

*Hires will be required to attend a regional CNA2 training program which will consist of an 8:00am - 5:00pm work day the first 2 weeks. Attendance each day of the first 2 weeks is mandatory*

In this position, you will:

  • Assist the registered nurse (RN) in providing comprehensive nursing care by performing specified duties and functions under the direct supervision of the RN.

  • Perform duties in a caring and respectful manner that promotes team functioning.

  • Consistently uphold standards of confidentiality, punctuality and attendance.

Qualifications:

Required q ualifications for this position include:

  • Completion of Oregon State Board of Nursing (OSBN) recognized Acute Care Certified Nursing Assistant 2 (CNA 2) course, or "grandfathered" to CNA 2 per OSBN requirements

  • Current, active certificate to practice as a CNA 2 in Oregon

  • New onboarding caregivers must have a current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (AHA-BLS) for Healthcare Provider certification

Preferred q ualifications for this position include:

  • 1 year of experience as a CNA 2 preferred, but new grad CNA2s or those with less than 1 year of experience are also welcome to apply and training will be provided
