Providence Health & Services Service Equipment Specialist in Medford, Oregon
Providence is calling a Service Equipment Specialist (1.0 FTE, Days) to Providence Pavillion Medford in Medford, OR.
In this position, you will:
Instruct, educate, and deliver home medical equipment to patients.
Educate and instruct each patient, family member or caregiver on the correct use and function of each piece of equipment delivered, and complete all associated and required documentation.
Perform home environmental safety inspections to include safe access into the home, throw rugs, and use of equipment in a multi-level home, smoke detectors, and working electrical outlets.
Review the disaster preparedness instruction pamphlet and patient rights and responsibilities with the patient/caregiver.
Perform customer service functions and facilitates minor equipment repairs.
Follow The Joint Commission, Oregon State Health Administration, and Oregon Department of Transportation and Washington Department of Transportation regulatory guidelines.
Be responsible for communicating and coordinating service with patients, physicians, nurses, and referral sources.
Perform all duties in a manner, which promotes teamwork and coordinated care.
Providence Home Services – Home Medical Equipment provides a variety of oxygen systems, home medical equipment, respiratory equipment, and soft goods for patients who do not require hospitalization, but need medical equipment to recuperate and function in a home setting** .
Required qualifications for this position include:
High school diploma or equivalent
Federal Motor Carrier Medical Examiners Interstate Certificate
Class C Oregon or Washington Commercial Driver's Permit
Class C Oregon or Washington Commercial License with Hazardous Materials and Air Brake endorsements within 60 days of hire start date
No more than 1 moving violation or 1 chargeable accident within the last 3 years
In compliance with Providence Health & Services-Oregon Human Resources policy # 302 "Background Checks” a criminal background check is required for this position prior to hire
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
2 years of mechanical experience with home medical equipment
2 years of experience in the home medical equipment industry
2 years of experience in a customer service
