Providence Health & Services Registered Charge Nurse Inpatient Rehab in Medford, Oregon


Providence is calling a Registered Charge Nurse (0.6 FTE, Evenings) to Providence Medford Medical Center in Medford , OR. This position will work 2, 12hr shifts.

Ideal candidate will have 3 yrs experience in Rehab as well as leadership experience. Able to multitask, take charge and can handle stress and change with ease. Patient volume is approximately 8-9 per day.

In this position, you will:

  • Provide professional, comprehensive nursing care for patients in an acute care environment.

  • Be responsible for the workflow of the unit under the direction of the unit management team.

  • Determine unit priorities for assigned timeframe with regard to patient care, patient flow (bed control), staffing and distribution of resources.

  • Be responsible for ensuring adherence to standards and regulations.

  • Be accountable for the delivery of coordinated, safe, compassionate, therapeutic, evidence-based quality care to patients and families, based on individual physical, emotional, and spiritual needs, and appropriate care strategies throughout the lifespan.

  • Practice in accordance with the Nurse Practice Act in the state of employment, the American Nurses Association (ANA) Code of Ethics for Nurses, and the ANA scope and standards of practice.


Required q ualifications for this position include:

  • Nursing degree/diploma required upon hire

  • All Registered Nurses (RNs) without a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in nursing must obtain a bachelor’s degree in nursing or higher within 3 years of hire.

  • An RN with 20 years of RN experience will not be required to obtain a Bachelor's degree in nursing

  • Unencumbered RN license in Oregon and wherever care is delivered

  • If RN holds a multistate license through the Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC), the RN must adhere to the requirements of licensure in the new state(s) of hire.

  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) card must be from the following authorized governing bodies: American Heart Association (AHA) - (BLS Provider), American Red Cross (ARC) - (BLS for Health Care Provider), or Military Training Network (MTN) – (Healthcare Provider) upon hire

  • 12 months of acute care experience working with the patient population similar to Inpatient Rehabilitation -or- completion of the specialty residency located at Providence Medford Medical Center

  • 1 year of experience with like population of hiring unit and demonstrated leadership accomplishments

Preferred q ualifications for this position include:

  • Bachelor's degree in nursing

  • National Certification in Medical Surgical

  • Charge nurse experience, to include leading teams

  • 3 years of experience as an RN
