Surgery Tech II Float
The Surgery Tech II Float performs a variety of technical duties to scrub in surgery. Prepares operating rooms for surgery, using appropriate techniques. The Surgical Technologist performs specific duties while covering for Surgical Tech on break which include but are not limited to: provide active coverage, continue assisting surgeon during operation within the surgical technologist scope of practice, prepares rooms, assists the surgical team during operative procedures, assists in cleaning and preparing the room between procedures, maintains aseptic technique. Provides technical services and assists in operating room as assigned and directed.
Minimum of two (2) years scub experience in at least one advanced speciality (cardiovascular, orthopedics, etc)
National Certification as a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) issued by the Liaison Council on Certification for the Surgical Technologist or the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting
Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers sponsored by the American Heart Association
If employee/applicant has certification by the American Red Cross, this will be accepted until expiration. At that time, renewal must be sponsored by the American Heart Association.)
