Emergency Department Technician at Providence Holy Cross Medical Center

Under the general supervision of the Emergency Department Nurse Manager, Assistant Nurse Manager, or Resource Nurse, performs basic emergency medical/trauma procedures and patient care as directed. Demonstrates proficiency in delivering care to assigned age-specific patient population (e.g., infants, adolescents, adults, geriatrics, pediatrics), and participates in related continuing education.

Required qualifications:

  • Completion of EMT-1 Training program - or- Clinical experience

  • MOAB I / II within 30 to 150 days of hire

  • Current BLS-HCP- Basic Life Support- for Healthcare Providers- American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC)- CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer accepted on hire until card expiration date

  • Los Angeles County Fire Card required within 30 days of hire

  • EMT Certification: Current LA County EMT-1 Certificate

  • Required within 30 days of hire: National California Fire and Life Safety Card - National Organization

  • Required upon hire: California Emergency Medical Technician License - California Emergency Services

  • Required upon hire: California Emergency Medical Technician Advance – California Emergency Services

  • Required upon hire: California Paramedic License

  • Required upon hire: National Provider BLS - American Heart Association

Preferred qualifications:

  • National Registry of EMT certification

  • One (1) year patient care or clinical experience

  • Experience in an emergency room setting
