Providence is calling a Cardiac Ultrasound Technologist (On-call/Variable Shift) to Providence Holy Cross Medical Center in Mission Hills, CA.

We are seeking a Cardiac Ultrasound Technologist who will perform diagnostic cardiac ultrasound examinations and other cardiac diagnostic tests for subsequent evaluation and treatment by attending physician.
In this position you will:
Implement and maintain established department, unit, and hospital policies, procedures, and objectives as well as improving organization performance program, safety, environmental, and infection control policies
Prepare written/electronic documentation as required by the profession and the department, such as preliminary results evaluation and other reports
Perform all cardiac diagnostic ultrasound and other cardiac diagnostic techniques and examinations
Maintain records of examination data and other pertinent information on patients
Schedule cases to coordinate with other patient examinations
Position and transfer patients comfortably
Select proper technical factors on an individual patient basis
Select and operates equipment as directed
Enhance professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, current literature, in-service meetings, and workshops
Attend meetings as required
Abstract relevant information from the patient’s clinical record and obtains additional information if necessary
Explain procedures and positions patients on table
Position patients and operates equipment to produce the most reliable information data
Prepare preliminary reports addressed to the test reading physician
Assist medical staff during special procedures (i.e., pericardiocentesis, etc.)
Check equipment, supplies and accessories on a regular basis
Maintain orderliness and cleanliness of work areas
Record and calculate all necessary parameters and reads ECG tracings for diagnostic purposes
Assist safety officer in assessing patient environment of care and patient care areas. (PSJ only)
Stock medications and supplies in TEE cleaning room, treadmill rooms and patient procedure rooms. (PSJ only)

Assist in inventory control and ordering supplies
Required qualifications for this position includes:
Current BLS-HCP Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers:
Adult, Child, Infant sponsored by the American Heart Association (AHA) or the American Red Cross (ARC); CPR/AED for professional rescuer accepted on hire until card expiration date
Current Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (ARDMS) or Registered Cardiac Sonographer (CCI)
Preferred qualifications for this position includes:
Post High School specialized/technical training from an institution in cardiac ultrasound technology/non invasive cardiac procedures
One (1) year experience in Adults and Pediatric Cardiac Diagnostic Ultrasound Technology
