Patient Care Technician - Emergency
$5,000 hiring bonus for eligible external hires that meet required qualifications and conditions for payment.
Under general supervision by the RN, the Patient Care Tech II is responsible for providing basic nursing care for in-patients and out-patients as needed, within their specified area(s) (see below). The Patient Care Tech II is responsible for collecting and reporting of information to the supervising RN and completion of all patient care related documentation. Patient Care Techs are assigned as follows: Emergency Services – basic respiratory, cardiology, nursing care, phlebotomy, assists with orthopedic devices and procedures (infant, child, adolescent, adult, geriatric).
Coursework/Training: For hires after 10/31/16:
Completion of a CNA program, Or
Completion of first semester nursing program, Or
EMT program completion for hires to Emergency Services
California Nursing Assistant Certification License upon hire or
National Emergency Medical Technician - National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians upon hire or
California Emergency Medical Technician License upon hire or
California Emergency Medical Technician Advanced License upon hire or
California Paramedic License upon hire
National Provider BLS - American Heart Association upon hire
Experience with basic data entry
Coursework/Training: EKG Training
Coursework/Training: Successful completion of dysrhythmia course or equivalent education/experience
1 year of acute patient care experience or
6 months experience in a direct patient care environment in providing clerical support related to Provider or Patient documentation or charting
