Providence Population Health Genomics Senior Program Manager in Irvine, California

Providence St. Joseph Health is calling a Population Health Genomics Senior Program Manager to our location in Irvine, CA.

We are seeking a Population Health Genomics Senior Program Manager who will be responsible for developing and maintaining diverse activities related to

the Population Health Genomics Screening Program for the PSJH system. The Program manager will serve as the dedicated focal point for the program. In this role the Genetic Counselor will work with enrolled clinics, the Center for Outcomes Research team, and PSJH Clinical Genomics laboratory to ensure patients are invited to participate, track participation process, and be responsible for the success of the program by coordination and management details required to make the program operationally function. This role will require the Program manager to participate in community outreach events, medical staff and consumer education, collaborative research projects, program meetings, and program development. This includes, but is not limited to:

‐ Community, patient and provider outreach to increase program awareness through educational materials and presentations

‐ Oversee and maintain standardized evidence-based practice guidelines and workflows for patient care.

‐ Coordinate patient research/program registration and specialist care

‐ In conjunction with Center for Outcomes Research (CORE) develop and maintain a program research repository and database and ensure quality control of data compilation and submission.

‐ Implement and oversee operations of the whole genome sequencing screening pilot program with emphasis on program growth and sustainability.

‐ Supervise the preparation of routine operational reports including key performance indicators for services and reports on program performance.

‐ Review metrics and provide recommendations or solutions for enabling drive towards greater efficiencies and quality.

‐ Provide insight and guidance on ways to improve and expand the program over time. The Program manager will provide these services virtually and on-sight as well as service outreach at clinics to other Providence Ministries both in person and virtually.

No specific geographic location for residence required.

In this position you will have the following responsibilities:

  • Lead PSJH population health genomics Initiative development and execution

  • Partner with multidisciplinary team to create a systematic, coordinated approach to using whole genome sequencing as a risk screening mechanism, with development and implementation of patient identification and recruitment protocols, and standardized evidence-based clinical practice guidelines to support excellence in patient care

  • Track surveillance measures as appropriate in conjunction with Center for Outcomes Research

  • Work with other Genetic Counselors, both internal and external to Providence, to coordinate reports, follow up care and actionability plans for screened patients.

  • Synthesize medical consultation reports for the patient, referring, and treating physicians.

  • Participate in collaborative research, including assisting in the implementation and enrollment of subjects the study.

  • Oversee creation of educational materials for patients and providers regarding the program.

  • Participate in in-service education for healthcare personnel and marketing events for the general public.

  • Lead program meetings, and participate in associated conferences, community events, and Grand Rounds when appropriate.

  • Serve as a resource liaison for patients, clinicians and researchers involved in the day-to-day aspects of the Whole Genome Sequencing Population Screening Program.

Qualifications:

Required qualifications for this position include:

  • Masters Degree in Genetic Counseling or equivalent (PhD in Clinical Genetics).

  • Strong interpersonal skills and flexibility in working with patients, physicians, administrators and on multidisciplinary teams

  • Genetic Counselor must be board certified by the American Board of Genetic Counseling or Board Certification by the American Board of Medical Genetics.

Preferred qualifications for this position include:

  • A combination of 5-8 years of the following:

  • Prior experience providing genetic counseling and/or risk assessment, with broad based population screening experience

  • Clinical research or experience

  • Experience with program development and program management
