The Supervisor provides education and consultation on Diagnostic Imaging procedures for patients of all ages in accordance with established policies, procedures, and standards of care and practice. The supervisor is responsible for maintaining staff schedules, ordering supplies and participating in the evaluation and purchase or major medical equipment. The supervisor is responsible for communication with radiology, medical staff, the Director of Diagnostic Imaging and other departments providing the continuum of care to diagnostic imaging procedure patient, families and others. The supervisor also works to influence and promote change to improve standards of patient care through clinical practice, program development and role modeling. Participates in the selection, orientation, supervision and evaluation of employees and initiates or implements coaching or disciplinary actions when warranted according to organizational policies and procedures. The supervisor may assume some management accountabilities and tasks in the Director's absence.
In this position you will:
Demonstrates age specific patient care considerations for the population served:
Demonstrates application of knowledge, skills, and behaviors in the physical, motor/sensory, cognitive, psychosocial, patient and family education areas based on PRMCE age specific care competency assessment tool.
Maintains knowledge to effectively monitor the staff that performs Imaging procedures on patients of all ages including neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric according to the department protocol to achieve optimum diagnosis:
Understands basic equipment & technology used in each modality.
Maintains continuing education requirements.
Attends educational offering to ensure they keep up with technology.
Provides daily supervision to department staff according to organizational policies and procedures. Initiates counseling and disciplinary actions when warranted and according to procedures and labor contract provisions:
Rounds in the department on a daily basis. Is visible to the staff.
All disciplinary actions are initiated in a timely manner according to policy.
Ensures adequate staffing levels in the department by scheduling or supervising the scheduling process. Approves requests for time off according to departmental policies and labor contract agreements:
Reviews vision ware reports and takes action when productivity standards are not achieved.
Annual PTO vacation bidding is done on time.
Schedules are posted and comply with union contract.
Interviews candidates and make job offers in a timely manner.
Manage Kronos and attendance for employees. Monitors and approves time cards to ensure consistency with applicable pay practices. Ensures time cards are submitted according to established time frames:
Timecards are completed accurately and are consistently signed off according to schedule.
Timecards are completed according to state regulations and union contract.
Review Kronos to ensure overtime is kept to a minimum.
Required qualifications for this position include:
Associate's Degree in Radiologic Technology and a combination of education and directly related work experience
Current Certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or ARDMS
Current certification for the State of Washington as a Radiologic Technologist
