Providence is calling a Manager Sterile Processing at Providence Regional Medical Center in Everett, WA.
The Manager of Sterile Processing provides leadership for the Sterile Processing Department and all facets of sterile processing and perioperative supply chain functions. This includes the initiation and completion of operational plans that ensure quality while utilizing available resources efficiently and in alignment with Providence St. Joseph’s Mission, Vision, and Values. Service customers include, but are not limited to, Surgical Services, Labor and Delivery, Gastro and Special Procedures Unit, hospital clinics and departments, and other outside customers.
In this position you will:
Responsible for managing and coordinating all sterile processing activities for facility utilizing national standards
Hires, trains, and monitors performance and quality, organizes and assigns work in order to provide high quality and efficient services
Demonstrate competency by maintaining positive, constructive interpersonal relationships, and by understanding and practicing the principles of effective teamwork
Develops and manages sterile processing budget
Serves as a resource for facility and outlying associated clinics in the area of sterile processing
Conducts annual performance evaluations and administers corrective action if necessary
Consistently demonstrates and incorporates principles of safety and infection control into daily activities such as environment of care, infection control, and exposure control through departmental safety policies and procedures
Maintain knowledge of work appropriate aspects of environment of care programs, complies with policies and reports unsafe conditions
Supervises and ensures accountability of all employees in the performance of their duties
Bachelor's Degree in business, healthcare or a related field, or the combination of education and professionally related experience
Two years supervisory experience, including training and staff development
Two years budget with management and analysis
Three years work experience in the field of Sterile Processing.
National Certification in at least one of the following:Surgical Technology, CVSPD, IAHCSMM, CRCST preferred
5 years in a tertiary acute care hospital with extensive experience in preparation of reusable instruments and MIS technologies commonly used in surgical and invasive procedure settings
Experience with or exposure to a union environment
3 years demonstrated management competence in a sterile processing, supply chain management, and the surgical environment
If a Registered Nurse, must have operating room experience
