Providence Simulation Program Coordinator - Nursing Education in Everett, Washington
Providence is calling a Simulation Program Coordinator (1.0 FTE, Day Shift) to work in the Nursing Education Department at Providence Regional Medical Center Everett in Everett, WA. The Simulation Program Coordinator will be instrumental in developing simulation as a core educational method at PRMCE and will manage the simulation environment in clinical and non-clinical areas as well as provide education, training and supervision to those utilizing the simulation center and equipment.
Position details: This is a full-time position with benefits, exempt role.
In this position you will have the following responsibilities:
Plans and implements programs for external groups to include area health professions programs and the community, specifically youth
Collaborates with inter-professional staff and educators in designing, implementing and evaluating simulation education and lab activities
Establishes annual goals and objectives for the simulation program.
Develops and implements lab policies and procedures
Serves as an expert resource to interprofessional teams in providing simulation training in the clinical setting and the lab.
Collaborates with other health professionals to develop scenarios that reflect current practice.
Identifies and consults on simulation opportunities that promote interprofessional collaboration.
Operations, Equipment Stewardship, Forecasting and Budgeting:
Establishes practices and procedures for lab activities that provide for effective learning.
Establishes methods to facilitate interprofessional consultation and collaboration.
Teaching and Continuing Education:
Trains interprofessional staff in the use of high and low fidelity manikins and task trainers and teaches development, implementation and debriefing of scenarios to meet identified outcomes.
Assists in implementing and debriefing scenarios.
Keeps current in clinical simulation trends and participates in applicable continuing education.
Other duties as assigned.
Required qualifications for this position include:
Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN).
Master's Degree in Nursing or related health care field or equivalent education/experience (Equivalency: Currently enrolled in Master's Degree)
WA State RN License.
Five (5) years recent experience in clinical area, preferably in a variety of settings.
Two (2) years experience in staff development or clinical teaching.
Experience with clinical simulation required.
Experience in program development required.
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
Current certification as a Healthcare Simulation Educator (CHSE) preferred. Must be obtained within 1 year of hire.
Training Coordinator experience for the American Heart Association is a plus
