Providence Pharmacy Technician in Everett, Washington
Providence is calling an Outpatient Pharmacy Technician (1.0 FTE, Variable Shift) to Providence Regional Medical Center in Everett, WA.
This is for a union-based Outpatient Medication Reconciliation Pharmacy Technician position.
Performs functions associated with reconciliation of outpatient prescriptions and other hospital pharmacy processing which are permitted by state regulations under the immediate supervision of a licensed pharmacist. Performs routine functions assisting the pharmacist in collecting and verifying patient medication histories.
In this position you will:
The Outpatient Medication History Pharmacy Technician will assist the pharmacist by performing the following medication history activities, with the goal of compiling an accurate and complete medication list prior to hospital admission:
Collection and clarification of the home medication list through patient or caregiver interview, information gathered from electronic sources, community pharmacies and primary care provider.
Verification of allergy information.
Entry of the home medication list into the electronic health record (EHR), as well as updating the patient’s preferred community pharmacy information in the EHR.
Documentation in the EHR and communication of relevant information associated with home medications in the EHR and/or verbally to the pharmacist.
Communicating concisely and effectively with patients, families, pharmacists, and other health care providers related to patient home medication histories.
Responds to patient and provider inquiries.
Performs in person and telephone reception duties in a professional manner consistent with the core values of the organization.
Triages questions and consults appropriately to the Outpatient/Ambulatory Pharmacist.
Works primarily within emergency department
Required qualifications for this position include:
High School diploma -OR- GED equivalent.
Registered with WA State Board of Pharmacy as a Pharmacy Technician
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
- Third party billing or reimbursement
