Providence Patient Services and Access Representative - Centralized Call Services in Everett, Washington

Providence is calling a Patient Services and Access Representative (On Call, Day Shift) to the Centralized Call Services Department at Providence Medical Group in Everett, WA. Position Details: This is an on-call position with no benefits. Includes per diem pay. The schedule varies based on the need of the department, no weekends.

This is a non-patient facing position that floats between the Centralized Call Center and Referral Department.

In this position you will:

  • Answer incoming calls for Providence Medical Group Primary Care Clinics.

  • Enter patient demographic information into Electronic Medical Record System.

  • Communicate with patients via phone on a daily basis.

  • Obtain and verify insurance eligibility verification.

  • Collect and verify insurance authorization requirements to ensure payer requirements are met in a timely manner.

  • Effectively communicate with fellow caregivers along with internal and external customers including medical providers, clinic staff, and insurance companies.

  • Maintain ongoing tracking and appropriate documentation on referrals and authorizations via computer system and/or manual systems.

  • Work collaboratively with the back office teams to ensure an exceptional patient experience.

  • Referral Queue management in Epic.

  • Comprehensive knowledge of Payer guidelines.

Qualifications:

Required qualifications for this position include:

  • H.S. Diploma or GEDor equivalent education/experience

  • Coursework/Training in coding

  • 1 year of experience with coding: ICD-9, ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS

  • 3 years of health care business office or insurance experience required, with a minimum of 1-year ambulatory practice experience

  • Prior experience in liaison role for providers and staff

  • Comprehensive working knowledge of third party insurance processes

Preferred qualifications for this position include:

  • Bachelor's Degree

  • Experience with referrals and pre-authorization insurance

  • 1 year patient third party eligibility verification experience on an automated patient accounts system

  • Experience working with Electronic Medical Records
