Providence Patient Services and Access Representative - Behavioral Health Urgent Care in Everett, Washington
Providence St. Joseph Health is calling a Patient Services and Access Representative (0.2 FTE, Day Shift) to work in Behavioral Health Urgent Care at Providence Medical Group Northwest Washington in Everett, WA.
This is a Saturday only position, working 11am - 7pm.
We are seeking a Patient Services and Access Representative who will provide efficient, accurate, and effective customer focused communication services, pre-registration of new patients and verification of registration for established patients. Obtains and verifies insurance eligibility verification for behavioral health patients and obtains referral authorizations. Ensures payer requirements are met in a timely manner. Provides routine and complex financial counseling to patients, researches routine and complex billing issues. Collect and verify insurance authorization requirements to ensure payer requirements are met in a timely manner. Effectively communicate with internal and external customers including medical providers, clinic staff, and insurance companies.
In this position you will have the following responsibilities:
Referral Queue management in Epic.
Referral review and turn around within 24 hours
Comprehensive knowledge of Payer guidelines for behavioral health coverage.
24 hour follow up call with payers to determine patient’s coverage
Referral tracking for outside consultation.
Ensures outside appointments completed, referral closed, and consult notes received
Required qualifications for this position include:
H.S. Diploma or GED or equivalent educ/experience
Coursework/Training in coding
1 year experience with coding: ICD-9, ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS
3 years health care business office or insurance experience required, with a minimum of 1-year ambulatory practice experience
Prior experience in liaison role for providers and staff
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
1 year patient third party eligibility verification experience on an automated patient accounts system
