Providence Health & Services Manager, Clinical Informatics - Ambulatory in Everett, Washington

Providence is calling a Manager, Clinical Informatics to Providence Enterprise Information Services in Everett, WA.

We are seeking a Manager, Clinical Informatics to be accountable for the assessment, identification, consultation, training and coordination of ministry-specific clinical informatics needs across the continuum that will support clinical practice. He or she will accountable for overseeing and managing employee development plans, assigning and balancing the work load of their team members, prioritizing and managing team projects, and for providing their direct reports with professional and performance development plans, coaching and mentoring. With support and guidance from the Senior Manager, Clinical Informatics or Regional Informatics Leader, he or she will lead and coordinate day-to-day clinical informatics and training operations at the ministry level.

He or she will responsible for managing all aspects of caregiver education; including clinical information systems and workflows, analyzing the outcomes of the training and support services provided by their team, and identifying and implementing service delivery improvements.

In this position you will:

  • Be responsible for facilitation, coordination, advocacy, and maintenance of information systems related to clinical documentation and patient care delivery.

  • Provide strategic plans and solutions to ministry management in the areas of process improvement, training, information systems and data management.

  • Manage projects with strategic importance for the clinical informatics team and/or orchestrates the development of business plans.

  • Provide input to clinical informatics leadership on long term strategies for informatics, including support, workflows, training/education and communications; serve as a clinical informatics and training consultant and resource.

  • Assist with hiring, training, and development of staff to ensure the department has both the technical and organizational skills to effectively maintain operations and support as measured by meeting the established service levels.

  • Coordinate and facilitate teamwork with interdisciplinary groups – able to facilitate cross-departmental strategy sessions and process improvement initiatives.

  • Manage a team and provide Senior Manager Clinical or Regional Informatics Leader with consultations regarding workplace challenges and challenging employee situations.

  • Manage the delivery of training and clinical information systems, development programs; devise a training strategy in partnership with local and operational leadership.

  • Actively participate in optimizing processes and offers suggestions for new approaches to enhance customer service; standardize processes to provide exceptional customer service while reducing costs and identify and eliminate non-value added processes.

Qualifications:

Required qualifications for this position include:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a clinical discipline, computer science, education, communications, healthcare, business management, organizational management and development, behavioral science, business administration, information services or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience OR Enrollment in a Bachelor’s degree program with degree obtained within two (2) years OR

  • Three (3) plus years of supervisory experience in an information services or healthcare setting and six (6) years total relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of relevant experience

  • Proficient with the MS-Office suite of products

Preferred qualifications for this position include:

  • Informatics certifications or credentialing; may be equivalent for up to two (2) years’ experience for this position at the hiring manager’s discretion

  • Active license or certification to practice as a clinician is required if applicable (Physical Therapist, Occupational Therapists, Dietitian, Clinical Social Worker, Respiratory Therapist).
