Provides spiritual and emotional support and guidance to patients, families, visitors, volunteers, employees, managers and physicians. Performs services in the area of pastoral/spiritual care, bereavement, ethics and crisis intervention.
In this position you will:
Demonstrates age specific patient care considerations for the population served
Provides spiritual and emotional support to patients and families related to life coping, grief, meaning, healing processes, and follow-up referral/care after discharge according to department standard
Provides consultation to Providence Health System staff, Physicians, Volunteers and other individuals related to Patient/Family Spiritual Need
Acts as a liaison between patient, family, local clergy & NWSA staff during periods of crisis including critical illness, death, and a lengthy or difficult surgery
Responds to codes to assist families and patients according to policies and procedures; Respond to off hour pages for pastoral support as required
Required qualifications for this position include:
Master's Degree in Divinity, Theology, or equivalent field
Board Certification or Board Eligible in one of the following areas required: National Assoc of Catholic Chaplains, (NACC), Assoc of Professional Chaplains(APC), or National Assoc of Jewish Chaplains(NAJC)
Four (4) units Clinical Pastoral Education
