Providence is calling an Admitting Representative (0.0 FTE, Variable) to work in Patient Registration at Providence Regional Medical Center Everett in Everett, WA.

Ensures that all demographic and insurance information is captured in a timely and accurate manner in our Medical Record system. Prepares and coordinates the distribution of patient information to nursing units and ancillary departments. Adheres to all compliance and regulatory requirements. Collects patient co-payments, pre-payments and payments due. Works side by side with the clinical team in the emergency room setting.
In this position you will:
Demonstrates age specific patient care considerations for the population served.
Demonstrates application of knowledge, skills, and behaviors in the physical, motor/sensory, cognitive, psychosocial, patient and family education areas based on PRMCE age specific care competency assessment tool.
Ensures each account is registered accurately and completed prior to final billing.
Registers patient by collecting insurance and demographic information. Secures patient’s consent for treatment/billing.
When appropriate secures patients consent for treatment and billing. Completes task in a timely manner.
Collects deposits and/or co-payments as appropriate.
Notifies patients of their insurance co-payment responsibilities.
Updates incomplete registration data.
Audits Work Ques Fail Bill and other pre-billing reports on a daily basis.
If working in Radiology/Breast Center area, places radiology order in the electronic medical record and notifies modality that patient has arrived.
Develops and maintains the Patient Safety Database.
Enters required information according to department time standards, audits entry to ensure accuracy, and produces prescribed reports for distribution to Patient Safety Committee.
Provides staff support to a variety of committees.
Creates and distributes agendas, attends meetings to take minutes, prepares and distributes accurate minutes that are timely, maintains all meeting records.
Assists manager with staffing schedules and time card completion.
If working in Admitting Department, ensures that all departmental guidelines, protocols and policies are followed.
If working in Radiology/Breast Center, coordinates activities with film library and scheduling office.
Required qualification for this position include:
- 1 year of Customer Service or healthcare registration
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
Registrar and third party payor experience
Hospital patient access or billing, medical office receptionist, insurance office experience
Working knowledge of office equipment; printers and fax machines
Proficiency in MS Office
Certified Healthcare Access Associate (CHAA) or Certified Revenue Cycle Specialist (CRCS)
