Providence Health & Services Cook *1.0 FTE, Variable Shift* in Chewelah, Washington
Providence is calling a Cook (Food and Nutrition Services, Variable, 1.0 FTE, 40 hours per week) to Providence St. Joseph’s Hospital in Chewelah, Washington. In this position you will:
Procure foods from assigned storage areas to prepare items as they appear on daily production sheets, cafeteria menu, and catering menus.
Prepare hot entrees, vegetables, side dishes and other food products needed for patients, cafeteria, and catering.
Accurately measure food products and adjust recipes in food preparation process.
Develop schedule to meet appropriate meal times. Coordinates with other staff for items that may need some advance preparation.
Properly handle, package, prepare and store all foods including leftovers. Label and date food items. Rotate leftover and/or unused items.
Clean and sanitize all utensils and equipment related to job tasks on a daily basis.
Participate in the selection and procurement of food and supplies.
Required qualifications for this position include:
Ability to demonstrate skills related to culinary experience.
Food Service Worker’s permit (State board of Health Rules and Regulations, Chapter 197 Law of 1959 State of Washington) required
Preferred qualification for this position include:
- 2 years of cooking in an Institution, Hospital, or Nursing Home.
