Providence Health & Services Transcriptionist in Centralia, Washington
Providence is calling a Transcriptionist (0.4 FTE, Days) to Providence Centralia Hospital in Centralia, WA.
The Transcriptionist is responsible for transcribing and editing dictation for both inpatient and outpatient procedures at a technical level not requiring constant supervision of technical detail.
In this position you will:
Accurately type dictated reports from the radiologist.
Prioritize the typing needs to ensure inpatient reports are typed first and returned to the floor as soon as possible.
Ensure that the dictating and transcribing equipment is functioning properly.
Answer telephones and directs calls to appropriate staff members.
Be able to answer routine questions and knows when and to whom to refer calls to.
Make copies of reports as requested.
Follow hospital and/or departmental policies when furnishing information.
Required qualifications for this position include:
High school graduate or equivalent.
Six months experience in using a computer and Dictaphone typing medical-related reports.
Typing speed of at least 55 WPM.
Basic knowledge of computers, word processing programs and copy machines.
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
- Medical terminology, medical transcription and computer education or one year of business courses related to medical secretary/transcription fields.
