Providence is calling a Senior Cardiac Ultrasound Tech (Full time/Day shift) to Providence Saint Joseph Medical Center in Burbank, CA.

We are seeking a Senior Cardiac Ultrasound Tech reporting to the Department Manager, who will be responsible for delivering a high quality patient care in the Cardiodiagnostic Department by:
Performing all variety of non-invasive cardiac services
Assuring other techs clinical skills and competencies by serving as a key lead staff educator on techniques for non-invasive cardiac studies
Assisting in a daily work flow coordination
Serving as a Technical Director responsible for maintaining and achieving ICAEL accreditation
In this position you will:
Implement and maintain established department, and hospital policies, procedures, and objectives as well as improving organization performance program, safety, environmental, and infection control policies
Prepare electronic documentation as required by the profession and the department, such as preliminary results evaluation and other reports
Perform all cardiac diagnostic ultrasound and other cardiac diagnostic techniques and examinations
Maintain records of examination data and other pertinent information on patients
Schedule cases to coordinate with other patient examinations
Position and transfer patients comfortably
Select proper technical factors on an individual patient basis
Demonstrate skill in the use of EKG, stress testing, echocardiography equipment and electronic applications, including: appropriate setting, and navigation through applications capabilities, limitation and trouble shooting
Enhance professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, current literature, in-service meetings, and workshops
Attend meetings as required
Abstract relevant information from the patient’s clinical record and obtains additional information if necessary
Explain procedures and positions patients on table
Position patients and operate equipment to produce the most reliable information data
Prepare preliminary reports addressed to the test reading physician
Assist medical staff during special procedures (i.e., pericardiocentesis, etc.)
Check equipment, supplies and accessories on a regular basis
Maintain orderliness and cleanliness of work areas
Record and calculate all necessary parameters and reads ECG tracings for diagnostic purposes
Assist safety officer in assessing patient environment of care and patient care areas (PSJ only)
Stock medications and supplies in TEE cleaning room, treadmill rooms and patient procedure rooms (PSJ only)
Assist in the inventory control and supplies ordering
Coordinate clinical in-services and trainings for department staff members
Assist with new staff members department on-boarding
Assist with data collection for the quality and process improvement
Assist in the department policies and procedures development
Ensure performance and maintenance of testing equipment according to the established schedule
Required qualifications for this position include:
Current BSL-HCP- Basic Life Support- for Healthcare Providers: Adult, Child, Infant sponsored by the American Heart Association (AHA) or the American Red Cross (ARC); CPR/AED for professional rescuer accepted on hire until card expiration date
Current Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (ARDMS) or Registered Cardiac Sonographer (CCI)
Five (5) or more years clinical experience in an acute care setting with demonstrated technical expertise in all modalities of adult and pediatric echocardiography, and electrocardiology testing
- Post High School specialized/technical training from an institution in cardiac ultrasound technology/non-invasive cardiac procedures
