Providence is calling a Radiology Technologist PSJ (Per diem/Variable Shift) to Providence St Joseph Medical Center in Burbank, CA.

We are seeking a Radiology Technologist PSJ who will perform various diagnostic radiographic procedures according to accepted department protocols and hospital policy and procedure.
In this position you will:
Follow Universal Protocol at all times to ensure correct patient, correct procedure, and correct side.
Maintain established department policies, procedures, improving organization performance program, patient/customer safety, environmental and infection control standards.
Perform radiographic procedures; obtains patient history, prepares patient for the exam, explains exam, and ensures patient cooperation and safety during the procedure.
Prepare written documentation as required by the department, such as consents, evaluation results, progress and other reports, stat readings, and checks.
Check patient chart or prescription for correctness of orders, checks with radiologist or nurse as needed for quality patient care.
Recognize adverse reactions and contraindications, and acts accordingly.
Exam completion duties: Signs off on requisitions/orders, Performs ITS functions such as such completing and billing of exams, periodic tracking of requests and sending digital images to PACS and following up on STAT procedures.
Select and operates appropriate equipment.
Check equipment, supplies, and accessories on a regular basis, maintains orderliness and cleanliness of work areas.
Enhance professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, current literature, in service meetings, and workshops.
Attend meetings as required.
The following job accountabilities may be reassigned:
Operate mammography, stereotactic, and ultrasound equipment. Sets up patient and records quality assurance data. Performs quality assurance testing and maintains records.
Assist medical staff during special procedures.
Act as patient educator prior to catheterization to explain procedure and answers questions; explains steps during the procedure, maintains records of examination data and other pertinent information on patients.
Transport patients to radiographic room; prepares and maintains rooms.
Train other technologists in day to day procedures.
Required qualifications for this position include:
Sufficient for certification.
BLS for Healthcare Providers sponsored by the American Heart Association. NOTE: If employee/applicant has certification by the American Red Cross-CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer, this will be accepted until card expiration date.
Current CRT with fluoro certification preceded by the prefix RHF required.
Must be knowledgeable of CR (Computerized Radiography), PACS (Picture Archival and Communication System) & RIS/HIS (Radiology & Hospital Information System).
