We are seeking an Echo Technologist who will perform/be responsible for echocardiographic exams in accordance with hospital and departmental standards. Complete all phases of exams and assists with other Heart Institute procedures and patients as needed.
In this position you will :
Perform/be responsible for cardiac ultrasounds in accordance with clinic and departmental standards. To include, but not limited to, transthoracic echocardiograms, exercise stress echocardiograms, pharmaceutical echocardiograms, transesophageal echocardiograms, and bubble studies in accordance with departmental protocols.
Perform/be responsible for EKG stress tests, processing EKG’s within the MUSE system, performing EKGs, and placement of holter monitors.
Utilize equipment such as ultrasound machines, MUSE EKG system, and holter recorders.
Complete all phases of exams including performance of exam, preparation of preliminary findings, and all necessary clerical processing of reports.
Assist with other Heart Institute procedures and patients as needed.
Prioritize work and provides prompt and efficient service.
Perform patient and department assessment.
Participate in goal directed plan based on outcomes.
Implement role based on department and clinic standards.
Participate in evaluating effectiveness of duties.
Participate in identifying patient/significant other learning needs and demonstrates measures to meet them.
Delegate to appropriate team members.
Demonstrate applied knowledge when caring for selected patient populations including care appropriate to the age of patients served.
Demonstrate competency in selected skills. Includes but not limited to:
General office duties including, but not limited to, use of computers, fax machines, answering telephones, appointment scheduling.
Demonstrate responsibility and accountability for own performance on team in regards to:
Attendance and punctuality.
Positive public relations image and working relationships.
Obtaining necessary knowledge and skill needed to maintain competence.
Completing all mandatory requirements.
Participate in the development and attainment of team, department, and hospital goals including:
Attending and participating in team meetings.
Volunteering or accepting assignments for projects.
Mission, vision and team ground rules.
Required qualifications for this position include:
Successful completion of an echocardiography ultrasound technology program.
Active Adult Echo Credential from ARDMS (RDCS) or CCI (RCS). If not in possession of active credential, must sit for and pass all necessary exams to obtain credentials within the first year of employment.
Two (2) years performing cardiac ultrasound in a clinic setting.
Electronic troubleshooting experience.
Ability to deal effectively with many people.
Must be able to prioritize, organize, and coordinate care.
Basic computer skills to utilize scanner.
Knowledge of vascular anatomy and physiology.
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
Active registry status in Adult Echocardiography by ARDMS or CCI.
Performing neonate/pediatric echocardiograms.
