Providence Health & Services Clinical Documentation Specialist in Burbank, California
Providence is calling a Part Time, Day shift Clinical Documentation Specialist to Providence St. Joseph Medical Center in Burbank, CA.
In this position you will:
Facilitate development, implementation, review, and revision of department, medical center, and service area policies, procedures, and standards of care related to areas of expertise.
Educate all internal customers on compliant documentation opportunities, coding and reimbursement issues, as well as performance improvement methodologies. Conduct follow-up reviews as necessary to support and assign a working or final DRG and to ensure points of clarification have been recorded in the patient’s chart.
Process discharges by updating the DRG Worksheet to reflect any changes in status, procedures/treatments, and conferring with physician to finalize diagnoses.
Required qualifications for this position include:
One of the following: Current CA Licensed Registered Nurse, Nurse Practitioner, Physician Assistant, Licensed MD (foreign or US)
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for Healthcare Providers sponsored by the American Heart Association
5 years recent clinical experience in a hospital setting
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
Bachelor Degree in Nursing (BSN)
Case management/ICU experience
