Providence Health & Services Senior Network Contract Specialist in Beaverton, Oregon

Providence Health Plan is calling for a Senior Network Contract Specialist to our location in Beaverton, OR.

In this position you will have the following responsibilities:

  • Negotiate provider contracts to support objectives relative to competitive market trends and client expectations.

  • Review, negotiate and renegotiate provider contracts including rate and contract language provisions.

  • Initiate, foster and maintain strong provider relationships.

  • Assists in managing relationships with leased networks.

  • Maintain, and preferably exceed, contracting production consistent with established goals.

  • Prepare analyses, reports and presentations by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.

Qualifications:

Required qualifications for this position include:

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, business administration or health care related field or equivalent education and experience.

  • 7 years of experience in a network management-related role with accountability for business results.

  • 7 years of experience working with financial analysis, reporting, and contract negotiations with institutional and professional providers.

  • Able to analyze funding and utilization data and hospital financial reports.

  • Possess a strong understanding of all aspects of managed care, including institutional and professional contracting, as they relate to insured programs (commercial, Medicaid and Medicare), rental networks and worker’s compensation.

  • Experience in working with and negotiating arrangements such as fee for service, capitated or risk bearing, and other performance bonus structure for hospital and physician services.

  • Must possess a command of payment methodologies: DRG, APC, Capitation, Fee For Service, RBRVS, Per Diem, Per Case, Percent of Charges.

  • Strong customer service skills.

  • Proficiency in word processing, spreadsheet, and database software, i.e., Word, Excel, Access. Experience working with contracting software.
