Providence is calling a Associate Contract/Vendor/Requisition Analyst 1 to Providence Health & Services in Renton, WA., or Beaverton, OR

We are seeking a Contract/Vendor/Requisition Analyst 1 to work on assignments of low to moderate complexity and managing and driving small projects to completion. The incumbent must participate in project teams on occasion, analyze user requirements, act as a source for direction, and respond to support inquiries.

The incumbent performs all duties in a manner that promotes Providence mission, values, and philosophy. In all aspects, he/she serves as a role model for the values and mission of the organization.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Actively participate with cross-functional teams within Information Services and throughout the health system across all ministries with strict adherence to all Providence St. Joseph Health policies, procedures, processes, guidelines, and all legal requirements (local, state, and federal), including support of organizational goals.

  • Participate in continual review of procurement processes for areas of improvement or risk and ensure the proper and timely management of IT expenses, invoices, orders, and other related team functions. Be good stewards of budget and expenditures. Consistently strive to meet the operational needs of Providence St Joseph Health Information Services.

  • Identify and report efficiencies and cost savings to leadership to reduce costs for the organization where ever possible. Assist in standardizing processes to provide exceptional customer service while reducing cost. Identify and eliminate non-value added processes. Ability to work with vendors to obtain quotes, evaluate orders and invoices, resolve issues and other information as needed and raise any concerns to management.

  • Demonstrated ability to use internal tools to evaluate orders, process requisitions, orders, invoices and input into system, forwarding for final approval. Demonstrate service excellence and positive interpersonal relationships in dealing with others. Demonstrates positive interpersonal relationships in dealing with others so that productivity is maximized. Knowledge using computers and technology, including proficiency with the MS-Office suite of prodcuts (basic Excel knowledge required).

  • Ability to manage 10-14 vendors at one time and accept direction and acquire more information as needed. Ability to accept responsibility, work independently, actively listen and adapt to change while acting with and maintaining integrity. Ability to work collaboratively with Providence St Joseph Health staff throughout the health system, across all ministries. Work collaboratively with others to determine information and data requirements. Evaluate and report on a variety of topics, sometimes complex in nature.

  • Skilled communicator, both oral and written. Skilled in working collaboratively, courteously and tactfully with difficult situations and/or people to recognize issues and solve problems. Plan and perform tasks correctly, in a timely and orderly manner, while meeting productivity, quality and customer service goals contained in Service Level Agreements. Ability to work with all levels of management and staff.


Required qualifications for this position include:

  • Associate’s degree or Equivalent educ/ Experience

  • 2-3 years functional experience

  • Intermediate Demonstrated analytical Skills

  • Advanced Articulate and responsive to colleagues

  • Advanced Ability to build strong customer relationships

  • Intermediate demonstrates a high leer of accuracy, even under pressure

  • Intermediate demonstrated time management and priority setting skills

  • Ability to prepare sound, supporting documentation on transactions and create workflows. Consistently deliver high quality work, demonstrate initiative and entrepreneurial thinking. Plan and perform tasks correctly, while meeting productivity, quality, and customer service goals.

  • Demonstrate knowledge of products and vendors. Ability to work with customers to resolve problems and provide training. Track vendor orders and services to ensure timely delivery.

  • Basic knowledge and administration of vendor management policies and procedures. Basic accounting/procurement knowledge, including purchasing, internal audit, and inventory control principles where applicable. Broad understanding of information services.

  • Ability to do thorough, documented research in order to resolve issues, determine and evaluate information and requirements necessary to perform daily work. Actively participate in uncovering and documenting potential cost savings.

  • Ability to: manage time to meet expectations, organize, plan, and prioritize effectively; collaborate and reach consensus with others; actively participate in optimizing processes, offer suggestions for new approaches to optimize efficiency and enhance customer relationships.

Preferred qualifications for this position include:

  • 1-2 years of experience in Information Services

  • 1-2 years of experience in a healthcare setting

  • 1-2 years of experience with Accounting/Purchasing
