Providence is calling a Registered Nurse Staff to the Peds Subspeciality Clinic ( Day shift, 1.0 FTE) at Providence Alaska MedicalCenter in Anchorage, Alaska.
The individual in this role will be care for pediatric and adulthemophilia patients
The registered nurse is accountable for the delivery and
supervision of safe, quality care that is individualized for their assigned
patients and follows the nursing process in accordance with the Nurse Practice
Act (assessment, planning implementation, evaluation). She/He is responsible
for the assessment, treatment and care of patients in populations and ages as
assigned. The registered nurse accepts and promotes professional development as
an integral part of nursing practice. She/He will access, analyze, customize,
coordinate and communicate the patient’s plan of care and activities
collaboratively with other members of the health care team. Families and or
significant others will be included within the plan of care as
In this position you will:
Possess knowledge of developmental needs and competentin the assessment and treatment as it relates to the age of the patientpopulation served. Conduct and document a comprehensive patient assessmentupon admission.
Consistently demonstrate and promote safe patient carepractices: (i.e. Hand washing/Patient ID, Communication, Reduction ofinfection risks, Medication Safety & Reconciliation, No PreventableDeaths/Injuries, Inclusion of patients/families concerns and access tohealthcare team.)
Collaborate with the patient, family and members of thehealthcare team; develops, documents, implements and monitors anindividualized plan of care which reflects a standard of care based onbest practice and evidence-based medicine.
Collaborate with the patient, family and members of thehealthcare team; develop, document, implement and monitor anindividualized plan of care which reflects a standard of care based onbest practice and evidence-based medicine.
Collaborate with team members, the patient, thepatient’s family and others as appropriate in the development of aproactive discharge plan.
Perform procedures and treatments according to accepteddepartment/unit protocols, guidelines, standards and the Nurse PracticeAct.
Required qualifications for this position include:
Graduate of an accredited/approved school of Nursing
Licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the State ofAlaska
Able to prioritize multiple tasks, and work with avariety of health unit teams
Able to read, write, and speak English
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
- 1 year Registered Nurse experience in an acute carehospital preferred unless hired as an intern or fellow
