Providence Health & Services Occupational Therapist -PMG Peds Neuro in Anchorage, Alaska
Providence is calling a Occupational Therapist ( Pmg Peds Neurosciences , Day Shift, 1.0 FTE) to Providence Physician Service Organization in Anchorage, Alaska. In this position, you will:
Assess, evaluate and implement Occupational Therapy services for children, ages birth to 18, according to professional standards and under the prescription of a physician/provider licensed in the state of Alaska.
Communicates with team members and outside agencies to identify patient needs, changes, overall condition of patient and determine future levels of care.
Document all aspects of care and outcomes in a manner that is clear to others, and meets service standards. Plans for patient discharge with attention given to home programs, equipment arrangement and patient/family education.
Delegate and/or collaborate, as appropriate, patient activities to co-workers, OT assistants, OT aides or other caregivers using professional criteria. Gathers feedback from team members and communicates information as needed.
Exhibit clinical skills relevant to level of education and training in pediatrics.
Perform and maintain necessary competencies as required to provide best practices and effectively communicates to other agencies for continuum of care.
Contact vendors for DME as applicable for patient equipment needs.
Provide patient/family education in a variety of physical settings and be able to communicate in a way to accommodate patient/family.
Demonstrate safe use and knowledge of equipment in home department and completes annual competencies for assigned job and department. Collaborate with acute care partners on a professional level to ensure professional skill set is supported.
Required qualifications for this position include:
Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Therapy
OR Master's Degree in Occupational Therapy
OR Ph.D. in Occupational Therapy
1 year experience in pediatrics
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
- 1 year in an out-patient setting
