Providence Health & Services Lactation Consultant in Anchorage, Alaska
Providence is calling a Lactation Consultant (Lactation Clinic, Variable Shift, 0.6 FTE - Part Time) to Providence Alaska Medical Center in Anchorage, Alaska.
This is a part time position with variable shift.
In this position you will:
Demonstrate effective, accurate clinical judgment when assessing the breastfeeding couplet's need for lactation support.
Provide counseling and education individually tailored to the client's specific condition.
Be responsible for collaborative care planning and implementation with all members of the healthcare team.
Be responsible for communication of lactation management recommendations to all members of the healthcare team.
Implement care/services that recognize age/diversity specific needs and issues of clients.
Required qualifications for this position include:
Current International Board of Certified Lactation Consultants (IBCLC) licensure
Current certification as a Registered Lactation Consultant through the International Board of Lactation Consultant Examiners (IBLCE)
2 years experience as lactation support provider
Knowledge of community resources related to lactation services and programs
Able to read, write and speak English
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
Bachelor's degree, preferably in a health care related discipline
Experience in inpatient and outpatient settings
