Providence Health & Services House Supervisor Nursing *0.9/Days, up to $10,000 Hiring Bonus* in Anchorage, Alaska


Providence is calling a House Supervisor Nursing (Patient Care Res Svcs, Day shift, 0.9 FTE, 36 hours per week) to Providence Alaska Medical Center in Anchorage, Alaska. In this position you will:

  • Directs Patient Care Services:

  • Works to assures appropriate placement of patients, monitors care provided on the nursing units and addresses concerns with the caregivers, charge nurses, supervisors and the unit/department management teams.

  • Collaborates with Medical Staff and Professionals:

  • Provides consultation and direction for efficient operation and quality customer service.

  • Investigates Concerns and Issues:

  • Works collaboratively with caregivers and others to determine issues and corrective actions related to patient, family, provider or caregiver concerns.

  • Oversees Nurse Staffing:

  • Directs and collaborates with department/unit management team and charge nurses to help assure appropriate staffing and efficient use of resources.

  • Emergency Response:

  • Responds to codes and emergency situations, providing leadership and assistance as necessary.

  • Facilitates Referral Process for Organ Donation and Manages Post-mortem Process:

  • Facilitates communication with patient care units, mortuaries, Medical Examiner, Organ Donation Program, next-of-kin, morgue/security and spiritual care regarding in-house deaths.

  • Provides Leadership and Guidance to the Hospital Staff:

  • Works closely with staff to problem solve and assure that patient care needs are met. Interprets organizational policies and procedures of the hospital and patient care units/ departments as necessary Performs assessment rounds of all patient care areas at least once per shift.


Required qualifications for this position include:

  • Graduation from an accredited/approved school of nursing.

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing.

  • Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Alaska

  • 5 years in Acute hospital experience as a staff nurse.

Preferred qualifications for this position include:

  • 2 years in Nursing supervisory/charge nurse experience.
