Providence is calling a Clinical Dietitian Specialist (Nutritional Services, Day Shift, 1.0 FTE) to Providence Alaska Medical Center in Anchorage, Alaska. We are a community of caregivers delivering every day on our Mission to provide compassionate care that is accessible for all - especially those who are poor and vulnerable.

In this position you will:

• Ensure that medical nutrition therapy is evidence-based practice in accordance with current standards and as outlined in the Nutrition Care Manual updated semi-annually by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.

• Establish work priorities to ensure smooth work flow and patient interaction.

• Accurately determine and record a plan of care in the medical record.

• Consult with patients, physicians, nursing staff, therapists, pharmacists, coworkers, and other members of the patient care team keeping them informed of patient's nutritional progress.

• Provide nutritional counseling services required by other community agencies or private institutions as specified in contractual arrangement or as a resource allowing other department programs to succeed.

Qualifications:

Required qualifications for this position include:

• Bachelor's of Science and Advanced Certification in nutrition related specialty OR a Master's of Science in Food and Nutrition or related field

• Continuing education in accordance with policies determined by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics for maintenance of registered status

• Current registration as a Registered Dietitian with the Commission on Dietetic Registration

• Licensure in accordance with the laws of the State of Alaska

• Basic Life Support (BLS) required within 90 days of hire

Preferred qualifications for this position include:

• 3 years clinical experience in area of expertise
