Providence Health & Services Clinical Dietitian Specialist in Anchorage, Alaska
Description:
Providence is calling a Clinical Dietitian Specialist (Nutritional Services, Day Shift, 1.0 FTE) to Providence Alaska Medical Center in Anchorage, Alaska. We are a community of caregivers delivering every day on our Mission to provide compassionate care that is accessible for all - especially those who are poor and vulnerable.
In this position you will:
Ensure that medical nutrition therapy is evidence-based practice in accordance with current standards and as outlined in the Nutrition Care Manual updated semi-annually by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.
Establish work priorities to ensure smooth work flow and patient interaction.
Accurately determine and record a plan of care in the medical record.
Consult with patients, physicians, nursing staff, therapists, pharmacists, coworkers, and other members of the patient care team keeping them informed of patient's nutritional progress.
Provide nutritional counseling services required by other community agencies or private institutions as specified in contractual arrangement or as a resource allowing other department programs to succeed.
Qualifications:
Required qualifications for this position include:
Bachelor's of Science and Advanced Certification in nutrition related specialty OR a Master's of Science in Food and Nutrition or related field
Continuing education in accordance with policies determined by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics for maintenance of registered status
Current registration as a Registered Dietitian with the Commission on Dietetic Registration
Licensure in accordance with the laws of the State of Alaska
Basic Life Support (BLS) required within 90 days of hire
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
- 3 years clinical experience in area of expertise
