Providence Charge Capture Specialist - Children's Hospital in Anchorage, Alaska
Providence is calling a Charge Capture Specialist (Childrens Hosp Dev, Days, 1.0 FTE) to Providence Alaska Medical Center in Anchorage, Alaska. In this position you will:
Collaborate with revenue integrity and other charge capture specialists to define principles of correct charging based on knowledge of coding procedures and health system standards.
Act as liason between HIS, Finance and assigned areas at Providence, to maintain accurate patient records and ensure charges are accurately captured.
Work with the Finance department to ensure proper coding of charges.
Actively plan for maximum charge capture and reimbursement with management and Finance staff on an on-going basis.
Proactively looks for ways to increase revenue by ensuring all procedures are billed timely and coded correctly.
Review HIS coding spreadsheet to ensure CPT codes have been appropriately assigned.
Organize and expedite the flow of department communications. Prepare, transmit, and track routine correspondence. Review and respond to incoming communications. Screen, prioritize, and perform follow up as required.
Required qualifications for this position include:
High School Diploma or GED
2AAPC certification as professional medical coder. Must be attained within 2 years of hire into position.
Four (4) years of Administrative experience
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
Secretarial Sciences and Personal Computers
Two (2) years of experience in a medical setting dealing with charge masters, billing, and coding.
