Providence Health & Services Case Management Support Technician in Anchorage, Alaska
Providence is calling a Case Management Support Technician (Case Management and Social Services, Day Shift, 1.0 FTE) to Providence Alaska Medical Center in Anchorage, Alaska.
The Case Management Support Technician will support Case Management/MSW functions related to payor pre-authorization/notification, utilization review submission, department specific software maintenance and education, patient travel authorization, specialized administrative assistance, record keeping, and general care-coordination tasks assigned by Case Management/MSW partners.
In this position you will:
Act as the focal point for customer service. Place outgoing calls and answer all incoming calls using good phone etiquette and customer service skills. Answer questions, if unable to assist patient/physician/department, refer calls to proper person or takes messages and returns calls promptly.
Collaborate with the healthcare team, patients/families, payers, physician offices and other community agencies to provide smooth and efficient department operation allowing for maximum comfort and confidentiality for the customer.
Verify and obtain benefits levels from insurance carriers and employers when applicable and maintains appropriate and accurate documentation, both written and electronically.
Actively participate in Quality Improvement programs by identifying opportunities and recommending solutions.
Be responsible to obtain the necessary knowledge and experience to perform job tasks in compliance with federal, state, and local laws, regulations and guidelines.
Required qualifications for this position include:
High school diploma or equivalent
2 years of experience in a medical business or hospital administrative setting
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
Strong customer service experience in a healthcare environment
Knowledge of insurance and medical terminology
Prior administrative support experience in a healthcare environment
Prior Electronic Medical Record (EMR) experience, such as EPIC
Prior experience using Microsoft Office Suite
