Providence is calling a Consultant – Technology Services to Providence Health & Services in Renton WA, Seattle WA, Portland OR, Beaverton OR, Torrance CA, Burbank CA OR Anaheim CA.

We are seeking a dynamic, self-starter to join our Technology Integration team as a Technology Consultant. This great opportunity for the seasoned IT professional will help take our external IT infrastructure service offerings to the next level. Come join our growing team that delivers technology integration initiatives in support of mergers, acquisitions, affiliations, sale of IT services, Epic technology or other efforts enabling collaboration or partnership with third parties.

The position delivers business value by providing technical counsel within and outside the IS organization regarding technology integration initiatives and operational activities by leading groups of technologists, as needed, in undertaking these efforts. The work involved is highly important to the business objectives of the enterprise; high-risk; and/or time sensitive. All duties must be performed in a manner that promotes team success, and reflects the Providence St. Joseph Health’s mission, philosophy, and core values.

In this position you will:

  • Lead multiple large, complex, sometimes high-risk projects.

  • Demonstrate effective interactions and positive interpersonal skills in dealing with fellow employees, supervisors, stakeholders, other department employees and vendors in order to maximize productivity and positive employee relations including virtual team leadership and interactions at the program level where required. Interacting and delivering at the multiple levels of the organization.

  • Make informed decisions about where to invest efforts based on established priorities as demonstrated by: completing assignments on time; communicating with customers and supervisors regarding prioritization and target completion dates based on business need or impact. Lead virtual project teams in carrying out projects. Understand business needs and sets accountabilities that meet established goals.

  • Maintain a positive relationship with the project(s) Executive Sponsor(s); assists the customer with the development of the project charter to include mutually agreed upon scope, schedule, budget, and quality objectives; identifies and manages customer expectations.

  • Develop, manage and execute project plans (objectives, goals, scope, schedules resources costs, and dependencies) that are integrated and synchronized with other areas of the business adjusting plans across the business as required to ensure successful delivery of commitments and use of resources.

  • Identify, document and monitor metrics for project performance; compiles, and manage to the data, and notifies stakeholders of problems affecting timelines and resources.

  • Serve as a liaison and principal contact for project-related activity. Manage and integrate groups of diverse disciplines in collaborative activities by acting as key liaison and facilitating cross-function communication.

  • Provide leadership to project staff clearly assigning responsibility for tasks and decisions, setting clear objectives, ensuring the effective use of tools and methodologies, measuring and monitoring progress and results, and fostering a positive team-oriented environment throughout the duration of the project.

Qualifications:

Required qualifications for this position include:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business Management, Information Services or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.

  • The position requires a minimum of 5 years of supervisory experience in an information services or healthcare setting, and 9-12 years total relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of relevant experience.

Preferred qualifications for this position include:

  • Experience defining IT products and services in a healthcare environment.

  • Experience in highly technical areas within healthcare – i.e. servers, storage, network, telecommunications, and end user devices.

  • An advanced degree in a related field.
