We are seeking a Senior Manager Applications: Lab Applications to:
Provide excellence in applications which includes, implementations and support for Providence and affiliated organizations
Provide day to day management of application teams which can include a single module and application instances to many areas and collaborating across IS to ensure success
Provide leadership input and support of the department and IS strategic goals and roadmap deployment, resource planning and utilization, support and ownership of the application services operational support initiatives
Develop department budget management within respective application focus areas
Develop leadership, and support of individual application road maps, implementation and optimization activities, and production support of applications within span of control
Be responsible for managing department budget, leading, mentoring and developing application analysts and supervisors/managers as well as other staff
Work in close collaboration with senior and executive leadership, business and clinical governance and other leaders across Providence
Be responsible for the overall integrity of application build and infrastructure, the success of new Epic and integrated third party product introductions, and may also have accountability for other business services or relationships
In this position you will have the following responsibilities:
Maintains relationships with key business partners and other senior leaders, as well as key contacts in the IT industry in order to leverage best practices, and to evaluate and manage emerging technologies
Supports appropriate service delivery models for core application functions by supporting the defining, delivering and improving services for the enterprise and its caregivers
Ensures that the applications division supports IS services and systems effectively, and partners with business and clinical leadership to drive and meet organizational objectives
Leadership role in ensuring these objectives are on track and being met
Manage customer expectations regarding the success of Information Services strategies and projects; ensures measurable outcomes are defined and reported for each strategy or project
Responsible for working with key stakeholders including executives, senior leaders, and a variety of customers to identify, oversee, and deliver technical solutions that are effective and user-friendly, and support strategic initiatives, business and clinical outcomes
Ensures the performance of applications and evaluates the performance of services on the basis of specific KPIs
Manages budgeting and expenditures for applications, staff and services within a defined span of control
Supports development of budgets in partnership with Director, Executive Director or Vice President to achieve IS financial targets
Directs and oversees compliance with policies and procedures for applications that impact all of Providence
Attracts, hires, trains, motivates, retains, and develops a team of first-rate professionals to perform the responsibilities of applications management
Maintains internal operations in order to meet or exceed Service Level Agreements, Operating Level Agreements, and associated KPIs
Responsible for coordinating and facilitating teamwork with multidisciplinary groups, building and reaching consensus; agreeing upon a course of action where there are multiple perspectives
As appropriate, manages and/or escalates critical issues problems or delays in production, projects or other initiatives that have an impact on the customer
Actively leads and participates in optimizing processes to improve service delivery, increase value and promote customer service and satisfaction
Responsible to understand the key deliverables and interdependencies of Epic modules and integrated applications
Qualifications:
Required qualifications for this position includes:
Bachelor's Degree, Computer Science, Business Management, Information Services -OR- a combination of equivalent education / experience
8 yearsHealthcare or Information Services experience
6 years Leadership experience
3 years' experience working in a healthcare environment
2 years leadership in an IS Application environment
Preferred qualifications for this position includes:
Knowledge of Azure
Knowledge of Server Infrastructure Requirements
Knowledge of Clinical Laboratory workflows
Understanding of applications and support
Epic Certification within 90 days of hire
Applicable Epic Certification when required is to be completed within 3 months of last class required for certification
Some application suites require advanced application certification as demonstrated by a current application software certification requirement (i.e. Epic).
