Providence Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Consultant in Alaska
Providence St. Joseph Health is calling a Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Consultant. While this role currently works 100% remote, post-Covid the expectation is that candidates hired will be able to to work each week part remote/part in office, so candidates must live within a reasonable commute of one of our local admin offices in Renton, Portland, Irvine, Anchorage, or Spokane.
We are seeking a Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Consultant to serves as a strategic consultant/subject matter expert to promote consistent and best practice approaches to caregiver diversity, equity and inclusion. The position advises in establishing a system-level DEI strategic plan in service to regional and line of business efforts to promote caregiver diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives to align with Mission, values and our promise. The responsibility of this position includes analysis of current state, research of best practices, consultation, design and selection of solution, cost analysis of implementation, assessment effectiveness, implementation, measurement, continuous improvement, and alignment with the overall strategic direction of PSJH Caregiver DEI. The DEI Consultant also serves as a liaison and internal consultant to HR, while ensuring that the DEI program activities are consistent with PSJH vision and core values. Performs all duties in a manner which promotes a community of inclusion and belonging for all caregivers and our values of justice, respect and dignity, which reflects the PSJH mission and philosophy.
In this position you will have the following responsibilities:
Provides technical expertise for most complex projects and programs working with members from multiple organizations, cross-functional team(s) and key leadership within a matrix management organization utilizing strong program/project methods and tools.
Business acumen within HR and across the functional organization to ensure business agility, innovative and creative solutions for achievement of outcomes.
Identifies project and program design, scope for work stream efforts and identify risk and mitigation strategies. Supports high level road map and transition plans to coordinate and scope schedules and projects.
Oversees the planning and execution of detailed plans, communication, and change management. Accountable for the achievement of project or program objectives consistent with HR strategy.
Supports the implementation of an organization-wide strategy to ensure diversity, equity and inclusion for all caregivers. This is done in partnership with other stakeholders to ensure that all initiatives are aligned with the strategic plan.
Develops and presents an array of innovative ideas and program concepts for consideration, selection, and implementation.
Communicates internal quality standards for inclusive culture and engagement programs and ensure that all aspects of the programs are operating against those standards. Ensures successful delivery of caregiver programs/services and monitor effectiveness of inclusive culture, diversity, equity, and engagement initiatives.
Advocates for infusion of diversity, equity and inclusion concepts in the caregiver training and development curriculum including multiple perspectives, and teaching strategies that prepare leaders and staff for success in a diverse, inclusive, equitable and global workplace.
Knowledge of statistics and ability to interpret/trend data.
Mentors DEI Coordinator, sharing skill, expertise and experience and providing subject matter expertise.
Provides training and education to all levels of the organization regarding interpretation and implementation of applicable laws, HR policies and new initiatives.
Promotes and utilizes HR technology, metrics, and systems to support the overall needs of the business. Collaborates with HR partners and others if new tools are needed to ensure customers are provided trend reports and analytics in the most efficient manner.
Ability to prepare and deliver presentations to explain processes, designs, and procedures. Demonstrates outstanding communications skills including verbal communications and the written word; ability to listen and communicate in a manner that is easily understood and effective, responds appropriately and timely to requests, asks clarifying questions.
Demonstrates the ability to develop and plan complex and long term projects taking into consideration multiple information sources.
Demonstrates ability to exercise sound judgment, work independently as well as collaboratively, and manages multiple competing demands.
Required qualifications for this position include:
Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business or related field or 4 years experience in lieu of Bachelor's degree.
5 years experience in leading and managing DEI strategies to successful completion.
3 years experience in Multi-Unit/Multi-State and/or Multi-line of business.
3 years Program and Project Management experience with excellent communication planning.
Strong verbal communication and listening skills.
Excellent interpretation of complex statistical data.
Able to influence internal and/or external constituents.
Demonstrate excellent judgment and decision making skills.
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
- Master's Degree in Human Resources, Business or related field.
