Providence is calling a Supervisor, Application Services - Hospital Billing to Providence Health & Services in Renton WA, Portland OR, Torrance CA and Burbank CA.

We are seeking a Supervisor, Application Services to provide excellence in application planning, implementation and support for Providence Health and Services (PH&S) and affiliated organizations. Essential job responsibilities include deployment and resource planning, resource utilization, management of operational support initiatives, and providing administrative support for IS application solutions. Accountabilities include the following operational categories: Support of functional business partners, identification and assessment of technical road maps, managing requirements gathering, production support of assigned applications, and support of and maximization of application usefulness. This position is responsible for managing, mentoring and developing staff. This position will work in close collaboration with customers and subject matter experts across the system.

In this position you will:

  • Attract, hire, train, motivate, retain, and develop a team of professionals to perform the responsibilities of applications management.

  • Create daily work schedules and assignments for staff in accordance with their skills, abilities and job positions

  • Demonstrate ability to coordinate and facilitate teamwork, building and reaching consensus; agreeing upon a course of action where there are multiple perspectives.

  • Be responsible for the recruitment, development, retention and compensation of analyst staff

  • Coordinate and perform build, test and quality assurance reviews.

  • Escalate critical issues, problems or delays in production, projects or any other issues that has an impact on the customer.

  • Actively participate in optimizing processes and leads initiatives to improve service delivery, increase value and promote customer service.

Qualifications:

Required qualifications for this position include:

  • Associates degree in Computer Science, Business Management, Information Services or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.

  • 1 to 3 years of supervisory experience or five years of technical experience in a healthcare environment may be substituted for the formal education requirement.

  • 3 years of Information Services leadership experience, and 5 years total relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of relevant experience.

  • Demonstrated ability to be successful in healthcare information services operations and support.

  • Experience standardizing disparate processes; methodologies related to application management such as system deployment, support and optimization.

  • Experience in process improvement methodology, change management and/or operational improvement. Organizational, interpersonal, and communications skills and the ability to adapt to shifting priorities are critical for success in this position.

  • Demonstrated ability to effectively manage or lead groups, and to accomplish work through high level individual contributors.

  • Ability to comprehend customer business needs and communicate priorities to team

  • Strong problem solving skills, demonstrated effective, managerial and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to organize, coordinate and facilitate team work groups; sometimes working in multiple locations simultaneously

  • Ability to rapidly summarize complex information and present to others.

  • Proficiency with MS Office suite of products.

Preferred qualifications for this position include:

  • Epic Hospital Billing Certification

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Services, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, Public Administration, or a related IS or healthcare field.

  • CAP, Work Out and/or Lean Belt.
