Providence is calling a Scientific Writer/Project Manager to Providence Health & Services in Spokane, WA.
We are seeking a Scientific Writer/Project Manager to be responsible overseeing and driving clinical research projects from concept to final deliverables in form of publications, clinical study reports, and reports to funding, in a timely, effective and professional level manner, managing collaboration and communication with teams of investigators, co-writers and expert contributors, always emphasizing clarity in message delivery and the highest standards of integrity. In collaboration with clinical investigators, the Scientific Writer/Project Manager will be responsible for developing clinical protocol, manual of procedures, and other study documents required for conduct of clinical trials.
In this position you will:
Manage multiple investigator-initiated clinical trials
Oversee and drive projects from concept to final deliverables in form of publications, clinical study reports, final reports to funding agency, etc.
Act as a liaison between the investigator, Providence Medical Research Center staff, funding agency, and third party contractors for study-specific issues
Coordinate preparation of and assist with the development of protocols, informed consent forms, monitoring and validation plans
Design case report forms & liaise with data analyst for database development
Create manuals of procedures for site coordinators, pharmacists, and laboratory technicians
Develop and present training materials for investigators, coordinators, pharmacists, laboratory technicians, and monitors
Verify trials are progressing according to quality standards and federal regulations
Guide on-site monitors by providing training, identifying issues to address on site; assist with resolution of issues and tracking corrective action plans
Arrange, prepare for, and document meetings between clinical researchers, sponsors, and coordinating center members
Build research infrastructure to support multi-center clinical trials
Perform project management for ad hoc Providence Medical Research Center projects as needed
Required qualifications for this position include:
Bachelor’s degree in a scientific or medical discipline or equivalent with at least 5 years of experience in clinical research project management OR MS/MPH/MA with 3 years of experience OR PhD with 2 years of experience in clinical research
Experience in clinical protocol and lab manual development
Solid writing and editorial skills (must provide examples).
Solid knowledge of Good Clinical Practice guidelines and Protection of Human Subjects regulations.
Expertise in MS Word and Excel, including the ability to solve technical problems with documents and templates; proficiency with Access and a variety of database applications; experience with EndNote and Adobe Acrobat.
