Providence is calling a Child Life Specialist (Family Support Services, 0.0 Variable/Per Diem with no guaranteed benefits) to Providence Sacred Heart Medical Center in Spokane, Washington. The requirements for this position include:
Plan and provide emotionally and developmentally appropriate experiences to promote effective coping with health care and continued cognitive and emotional growth.
Enhance quality of patient care through participation, documentation and communication with other members of the health care team.
Serve as a resource and advocate on child development issues.
Required qualifications for this position include:
Bachelor´s Degree in one of the following specialties: Child Development, Recreational Therapy, Elementary Education or related field
Currently certified as a Child Life Specialist (CCLS) or eligible. Certification must be obtained within one year of hire. (In order to be eligible to obtain certification, candidate must have already completed a Child Life Internship and Practicum)
Work experience in the field
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
Child Life Certification by the Child Life Council of the Association for the Care of Children´s Health
Five (5) years child life experience
