Providence Health & Services Speech Language Pathologist - Home Health in Spokane Valley, Washington
Providence is calling a Speech Language Pathologist to Providence VNA Home Health in Spokane, WA (Physical Therapy Dept., Day Shift, 0.60 FTE).
We are seeking a Speech Language Pathologist to join our team of caregivers who provide in home diagnostic and therapeutic treatment to patients who exhibit speech language or swallowing disorders.
In this position you will:
Help patients and their families maintain dignity and independence while receiving safe, effective rehabilitation in the security of their home.
Provide initial patient evaluation in accordance to physician request in order to initiate appropriate treatment, which is reasonable in the terms of accepted practice and necessary to recovery of function.
Educate patient and family (or caretaker) regarding the therapy and maintenance of the speech or swallowing disorder.
Use critical thinking, decisive judgment, and your ability to make independent decisions.
Utilize software for the maintenance of patient records and communication with team members.
Required qualifications for this position include:
Bachelor’s Degree in Speech Language Pathology from an accredited institution
Current Speech Therapy licensure in Washington State
Current American Speech Language Hearing Association (ASHA) certification
Valid Washington State driver’s license and insured, reliable vehicle
Current CPR certification
One (1) year experience with clinical responsibilities in a hospital, clinic, home health or skilled nursing facility or other related medical field
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
- Masters degree in Speech Language Pathology
