The Digital Innovation Group (DIG) at Providence Health & Services is a small but mighty product development and incubation team that is building next-gen tools that give patients convenient and easy access to healthcare virtually anywhere, anytime.

We are looking for talented, passionate college students graduating from either a Bachelors or Masters program by June 2017 who want their work to make a difference. If you like to solve complex problems that make clear and real-world impact in people’s lives, read on!

What you’ll work on:

Your work will change healthcare as we know it. You will be creating the software that powers the Providence on-demand healthcare platforms (ExpressCare) and TeleHealth products (TeleHospitalist, TeleStroke, TelePsych) through building APIs, improving customer tools with data science, and platform development.

How you’ll be doing this:

Beyond just writing code, you can feed your interests & passions by getting involved in all tiers of development and strategy. Some examples:

  • Work with designers and UX experts to design and develop solutions and technical designs.

  • Take calculated risks, learn from success or failure, and apply lessons learned to future challenges to continually improve a solutions driven approach.

  • Participate in analysis of current programs including performance, diagnosis and troubleshooting of problem programs, and suggest solutions to problematic programming.

  • Make presentations to professional peers.

  • Deliver products that delight customers while managing the health of the code base through continuous refactoring and management of technical debt

Qualifications:

Is this you?

  • 0-2 years of combined system architecture experience across multiple OSes, languages and frameworks or typical experience

  • Proficient in C# or Java or JS or any modern programming language

  • Strong Computer Science fundamentals in object-oriented design, data structures and problem solving

  • Basic design implementation and testing skills

  • Enjoy interacting and building relationships with colleagues
