Providence Health & Services Project Manager 2 in Seattle, Washington


Providence is calling a Project Manager 2-Technical to join the Information Services (IS) Portfolio and Project Management Office Infrastructure Team located in Seattle, WA.

The Project Manager 2 -Technical is accountable for large, cross-functional infrastructure projects. Responsible for initiating, planning, executing, controlling and closing multiple large technical projects that address the operational needs of multiple departments in order to deliver specified requirements, meet customer satisfaction, on time, within budget, and with quality results. The position also ensures appropriate management, customer, and supplier involvement throughout the project lifecycle.

The Project Manager 2-Technical performs all duties in a manner that promotes portfolio and project team success and reflects the Providence Health & Services mission, philosophy, and core values of respect, compassion, justice, excellence and stewardship.

In this position you will:

  • Manage various projects and programs with increased complexity, strategic priority, and or visibility.

  • Manage customer expectations, beginning with initial scope identification and on through the project lifecycle.

  • Effectively apply department methodologies and ensure all projects meet established standards.

  • Build and manage multiple multi-functional, collaborative project and/or work teams.

  • Manage relationships with key stakeholders across multiple locations.

  • Facilitate strategic planning with internal customers for deployment of infrastructure services and products.

  • Proactively communicate with, inform, and influence others to achieve success for assigned projects and programs.

  • Develop and deliver presentations to management, senior leadership, and other stakeholders.

  • Maintain timely and accurate documentation in support of project analysis and daily operations..

  • Participate in activities of the Portfolio and Project Management Office – Infrastructure Team as requested.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.


Required qualification for this position include:

  • A Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience

  • Six years of experience leading large, diverse and often complex projects

  • CAP, Workout and Lean education required as soon as available or within the 1 st year on the job

  • Experience managing projects with multiple project teams, product development lifecycle, or quality lifecycle

  • Experience making formal and informal presentations to senior and executive management and key stakeholders

  • Demonstrated experience developing and modifying process standards and objectives to a project as appropriate

  • A valid driver’s license, reliable transportation and current auto insurance

Preferred qualification for this position include:

  • Education and experience with Project Management methodology based on Project Management principles required. Project Management Professional designation (PMI) Certification

  • Experience working with process improvement methodologies such as Six Sigma or Lean
