Providence Health & Services Data Management Consultant in Seattle, Washington


Providence is calling a Data Management Consultant to Providence Health & Services in Renton, WA or Seattle, WA.

We are seeking a Data Management Consultant to be accountable for the integrity of Master Data on behalf of PH&S and affiliates. This position serves as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for data domains in both meta data management and master data management. The position will also ensure data management strategies are executed to unify data sources which contain master data on behalf of the entire Health System. This role also supports stewardship strategies to advance the quality and richness of enterprise data.

In this position you will:

  • Work as a Consultant with system clients to map and support their Master Data needs.

  • Execute System Level Data Strategy for IS Application Unification, Selections, and Consolidations.

  • Manage auditing of access to data sources, Business Rules, for critical system Master Data Management initiatives.

  • Support development and management of Operational Master Data Management Processes for PH&S.

  • Support Master Data Management development and analysis functions.

  • Promote operational processes, tools, and delivery channels to audit and improve system master data.


Required qualifications for this position include:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, technology or healthcare related field.

  • 10 years experience in healthcare data management related disciplines.

  • 7 years successful experience in data integration, application integration or Enteprise Level Project Management skills within a multi-state health system.

  • 5 years managing projects lifecycles.

  • Understanding of context and implications for usage of data in various healthcare settings.

  • Understanding of Credentialing, Privileging, legal structure of Independent Medical Staff across multi-state health system.

  • Understanding of TeleHealth Services, ACOs, Virtual Health, and other ancillary patient care models in large health systems.

  • Proficient in identification of meta data sources and master data management practices.

  • Possesses senior business process knowledge and how the master data supports them. Provides expert-level knowledge of data definitions, data relationships, business rules, data flows, data usage, and data quality indicators. Facilitates improved enterprise understanding of the data.

  • Possesses strong knowledge of PH&S System Level Data Management policies and procedures to ensure data and business rule compliance. Ensures the mastered data meets organizational data quality standards and applies best practices. Effectively communicates insights learned from the established data definitions, relationships and business rules.

  • Experience in collaborating, training, supporting and guiding an end-user community helpful.

  • Experience working with multiple business lines on projects involving issue resolution.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, sharepoint, Tableau, and Outlook applications.

  • Exhibits good listening and strong communication skills. Able to communicate effectively with Data Stewards, stakeholders, project team members and Data Governance Analysts by providing a concise and balanced perspective.

  • Advanced analytical and critical thinking skills to analyze, test and isolate complex provider demographic problems.

  • Able to understand provider demographic data sources, and collaborate with business process areas, Data Governance Program and IS in moving data to an integrated, well defined and cleansed, higher quality source.

  • Successful experience working in a leadership capacity with virtual teams.

Preferred qualifications for this position include:

  • Proficient in development of business requirements, technical requirements reviews, quality assurance and user acceptance testing in rapid sprint cycles.

  • Expertise in acute hospital, ambulatory clinical computer applications, especially those used at PH&S.

  • Experience working in a multi-site business.
