Providence is calling a Windows Systems Engineer, Subject Matter Expert to Providence Health & Services in Renton, WA.
He or she will be responsible for providing engineering expertise and leadership in the design and use of enterprise wide utility grade infrastructure across Providence Health and Services (PH&S).The subject matter expert (SME) initiates, coordinates and oversees designs for enterprise infrastructure in support of system and regional initiatives for their technology area of expertise. The SME acts as a key link between IS architects, peers, vendors and non-technical business stakeholders. As a member of the enterprise technology division the role guides all engineering related aspects of enterprise infrastructure efforts. Operation functions will include carrying an operational workload in their technology area, project specific sponsorship as well as design and deployment. The SME is viewed across the PH&S enterprise as an expert resource to application and business.
In this position you will:
Have expert knowledge in VMware stack
Collaborate with architect and peers to develop enterprise-wide technical standards and strategic plans domain.
Participate as expert in planning and design of infrastructure related tasks for major projects.
Align engineering of technical solutions with business requirements, strategic plans, and established standards.
Participate or lead the technical analysis and subsequent recommended solutions for new or existing systems affected by major projects.
Manage projects when dedicated project manager is not assigned. Provide technical peer review and consulting services.
Have proven experience with vRealize suite, with demonstrated knowledge of automation using vRA and vRO
Plan and execute POCs (proof of concept)
Work on vSphere design, lifecycle and standards documentation
Required qualifications for this position include:
Minimum of an Undergraduate degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems or related discipline OR an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
Minimum of ten (10) years experience of progressive, relevant infrastructure IT experience, including a minimum of five (5) years of specific work planning and designing large, complex, enterprise-wide systems and projects.
Minimum of three (3) years participating in the implementation of large infrastructure projects.
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
An Advanced Degree in a similar field.
Previous healthcare industry experience.
Any combination of VMWare, Microsoft or Citrix certifications and/or expertise.
