Providence is calling a Support Services Supervisor (1.0 FTE, Rotating/Variable) to Providence Office Park Portland in Portland, OR.

In this position, you will:

  • Be dedicated to customer satisfaction by providing high quality diagnostic information to care givers that is: accurate, timely, compliant, affordable, continuously improved and consistent with the core values of Providence Health System.

  • Primarily focus on delivering service commitments defined for the location in which the department resides.

  • Deliver services in a highly cost effective manner while maintaining appropriate licensures and conditions as required by Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA), Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), Change Acceleration Process (CAP), the Quality Plan and the Laboratory Compliance Program.

  • Support the primary goals of the location and its Operations Manager to improve service to the emergent and critically ill patients and, where appropriate, to meet production goals and timelines necessary to effectively compete in the outreach market.

  • Continuously strive to decrease costs while still maintaining the service levels and quality necessary to service all caregivers and their patient populations served by the department.

Qualifications:

Required qualifications for this position include:

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Documented leadership coursework

  • Licensure as defined by CLIA regulations is required (refer to Job Title Specification Sheet-JTSS)

  • 6 years of progressive laboratory experience in a high volume facility -or- a total of 6 years combined experience and education

  • Familiarity with all aspects of support department operations, including cost effective management of labor and supplies

  • Familiarity with workflow and operational processes between technical and non-technical laboratory functions

  • Ability to identify root causes for operational and financial variances and to remediate

  • Demonstrated ability to resolve service failures and initiate analyses to develop long term solutions

  • Demonstrated ability to work with disparate groups across multiple shifts

Preferred:

  • Some college

  • Specialty certification in area of responsibility, if appropriate

  • Previous supervisory experience
