Providence Health & Services Registrar - Tumor/Cancer Registry in Portland, Oregon


Providence is calling a Registrar - Tumor/Cancer Registry to work Remotely (from home) as long as you reside in any of the following states: WA, AK, CA, or OR.

In this position, you will:

  • Collect, compile and maintain demographic, clinical and follow-up data on all cancer cases diagnosed and/or treated at Providence facilities in the Portland Service Area.

  • Extract data from all available sources including EPIC, Mosaic, and other department-specific databases.

  • Prepare information state submission, NCDB submission and for for local analysis and dissemination.

  • Perform all cancer registry work in compliance with the standards set by the American College of Surgeons.


Required qualifications for this position include:

  • CTR certification required

  • Associate's degree or higher

  • Must be familiar with computer data entry

  • Must be familiar with ACOS standards for cancer registries

  • Must have working knowledge of Windows, Word, and Excel and must be able to learn electronic documentation systems

  • Ability to communicate with physicians, and the ability to communicate tactfully with patients and family when necessary

  • Possess knowledge of medicine and related fields, including anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology

  • Specialized knowledge of cancer, including its treatments, staging, disease classification and coding

Preferred qualifications for this position include:

  • Minimum 2 years of cancer registry experience
