Providence Health & Services Registered Nurse - Perinatal Special Care Unit (0.9 FTE, Rotating/Variable) TEMPORARY in Portland, Oregon
Providence is calling a Registered Nurse - Perinatal Special Care Unit (0.9 FTE, Rotating/Variable) to Providence St. Vincent Medical Center in Portland, OR.
This is a temporary position with an expected duration of 3 months.
In this position, you will:
Provide and supervise professional, independent nursing care for Providence patients that is as evidence-based as possible. Care is based in the nursing process and is consistent with the Oregon Nurse Practice Act.
Apply knowledge of assessing, planning, ordering, giving, delegating, teaching and supervising professional nursing care delivery that promotes patients’ optimal health and independence.
Have a broad range of general nursing knowledge and expertise.
Develop and validate knowledge and skills essential to the assigned department, patient population and/or practice area are crucial.
Participate in and lead clinical teams and may supervise, assign or delegate to licensed practical nurses (LPNs), certified nursing assistants (CNAs) and other healthcare workers.
Required qualifications for this position include:
Current, unencumbered Oregon Registered Nurse (RN) license
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) required at time of hire
Current Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification
1 year of recent experience with high risk antepartum patients including ability to interpret and assess fetal heart rate tracings -or- high risk postpartum and newborn couplet care
Relevant training and certifications applicable to the position, as specified by the Nurse Manager
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing strongly preferred, required for newly hired Registered Nurses as of 2018.
American Heart Association Basic Life Support (AHA-BLS) for Healthcare Provider certification within 6 months of hire
Registered Nurse Certification in Inpatient Obstetrics (RNC-OB) -or- Registered Nurse Certification in Maternal Newborn Nursing (RNC-MNN), -or- Certification in Electronic Fetal Monitoring (C-EFM)
1 year of acute care RN experience
Experience with both antepartum and postpartum patient populations
New To Specialty:
NRP (Neonatal Resucitation Program) certification required within 6 months
NW PRN Introduction to Perinatal and Newborn Nuring Program required within 6 months of hire
- 1 year acute care RN experience OR completion of senior clinical expereince in Antepartum, Labor and Delivery or Perinatal Special Care Unit
