Providence is calling a Registered Nurse - Perinatal Special Care Unit (0.0 FTE, Nights) to Providence St. Vincent Medical Center in Portland, OR.
In this position, you will:
Provide and supervise professional, independent nursing care for Providence patients that is as evidence-based as possible. Care is based in the nursing process and is consistent with the Oregon Nurse Practice Act.
Apply knowledge of assessing, planning, ordering, giving, delegating, teaching and supervising professional nursing care delivery that promotes patient's optimal health and independence.
Have a broad range of general nursing knowledge and expertise. In addition, development and validation of knowledge and skills essential to the assigned department, patient population and/or practice area are crucial.
Participate in and lead clinical teams and may supervise, assign or delegate to licensed practical nurses (LPNs), certified nursing assistants (CNAs) and other health care workers.
Required qualifications for this position include:
Current, unencumbered Oregon Registered Nurse (RN) License
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) at time of hire
American Heart Association Basic Life Support (AHA-BLS) for Healthcare Provider certification within 6 months of hire
Current Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification
1 year of recent experience with high risk antepartum patients including ability to interpret and assess fetal heart rate tracings OR high risk postpartum and newborn couplet care
Relevant training and certifications applicable to the position, as specified by the Nurse Manager
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, required for newly hired RNs as of 2018
Inpatient Obstetric Nursing (RNC-OB), Maternal Newborn Nursing (RNC-MNN), or Electronic Fetal Monitoring (C-EFM) certification
1 year of acute care RN experience
Experience with both antepartum and postpartum patient populations
