Providence is calling a Registered Nurse - Labor & Delivery (0.0 FTE, Rotating/Variable) to Providence Portland Medical Center in Portland , OR.
Providence in Oregon is blessed to assist in the delivery of 11,000 babies a year. As a L&D Nurse you will be on a team that could include a mix of quality Physicians, Nurses, Midwives, Doulas, Maternity technicians and Health Unit Coordinators . Our night shifts at PPMC are 12 hours with every other weekend off. Come join our team and and witness the miracle of life every day.
In this position, you will:
Provide professional, comprehensive nursing care for patients in an acute care environment.
Be accountable for the delivery of coordinated, safe, compassionate, therapeutic, evidence-based quality care to patients and families, based on individual physical, emotional, and spiritual needs, and appropriate care strategies throughout the lifespan.
Practice in accordance with the Nurse Practice Act in the state of employment, the American Nurses Association (ANA) Code of Ethics for Nurses, and the ANA scope and standards of practice.
Required qualifications for this position include:
Nursing degree/diploma upon hire
Bachelors of Nursing (BSN), or higher required within three (3) years, or 20 years of RN experience
Current, unencumbered Oregon Registered Nurse (RN) license
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) at time of hire
Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification within 3 months of hire
12 months acute care experience working with Labor & Delivery patient population, or completion of the specialty residency located at that facility
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
Recent fetal monitoring class
Perinatal specialty certification
Postpartum & Newborn experience
