Providence Health & Services Qualified Mental Health Associate - Emergency Department in Portland, Oregon
Providence is calling an on call Qualified Mental Health Associate (0.0 FTE) to the Emergency Departments (ED) at Providence Portland Medical Center and Providence St. Vincent Medical Center in Portland, OR.
Interested in becoming a member of our ED's multidisciplinary team dedicated to providing better quality of services to our patients with mental health needs? This position is scheduled in our ED 24/7, so we are looking for individuals looking to work twelve hour shifts during evening and overnight hours.
In this position, you will:
Provide intervention and continuity of care to patients with behavioral health concerns and/or severe psycho-social stressors. Interventions involve providing supervision, emotional support, behavioral intervention, and basic care needs while functioning in the role of Qualified Mental Health Associate.
Perform all duties in a manner which promotes team concept, culture of excellence and accountability, and reflects the Mission and Values of Providence Health and Services.
Required qualifications for this position include:
Meet qualifications of a Qualified Mental Health Associate as identified by OARS 309-032-001 through 1295 which is a Bachelor's degree in a behavioral science field -or- a combination of 3 years work, education, training, or experience
Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (AHA BLS) certification within 60 days of hire
2 years of experience providing direct care assistance to individuals with behavioral health concerns and/or severe psycho-social stressors and/or Development Disabilities
Annual training in Prevention and Management of Assaultive Behavior (PMAB) within 60 days of hire
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
Bachelor's degree in mental health related field such as social work, psychology, and/or counseling
Experience providing crisis intervention techniques
Experience working in an emergency department
