Providence Health & Services Psychologist Resident in Portland, Oregon


Providence is calling a Psychologist Resident to Providence Medical Group in Portland, OR.

In this position, you will:

  • Help provide the highest quality primary care by addressing the biological, psychological and social factors influencing patients’ health and health behaviors.

  • Recognize the importance of participating in training programs that ensure the availability of Psychologists with expertise in the area of primary care.

  • Primarily function within the Patient-Centered Medical Home providing brief, evidence-based interventions to patients, and providing consultation/training for the primary care team.

  • Work within the Patient Centered Medical Home Model in coordination with multiple Primary Care Providers (PCPs) and serve as a link to an identified population of patients. Through skilled assessment, education, collaboration and coordination of healthcare and community resources.

  • Assist patients to gain self-efficacy, management skills, achieve optimum functional health status, and quality of life.

  • Assist patients/families, providers and staff to achieve high quality, evidence based, cost-effective, and patient focused outcomes.


Required qualifications for this position include:

  • Eligible for licensure with the Oregon Board of Psychologist Examiners and have an application on file with the board

Preferred qualifications for this position include:

  • Doctorate in Psychology from an American Psychological Association (APA) Accredited Program

  • Completion of PMG BHI Internship

  • Experience in a primary care setting
